Pre-workout supplements for women aim to address some of the specific issues women face when training such as feeling too tired and groggy exercise.

But let’s take a closer look at the best pre-workout supplements for women, their pros, cons, side effects, and more.

Best Pre-Workout for Women

1. Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy Pre-workout

Optimum Nutrition | Amino Energy Pre-Workout Drink with BCAAs

A supplement intended to help you have more energy and focus, and easier muscle recovery, Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy contains amino acids and caffeine.

A container with 30 servings, can be found on Amazon.

The caffeine makes it the perfect pre-workout supplement, great to use especially for those who like to workout in the morning.

Another pro is that this supplement contains all the essential amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine.

These help prevent muscle breakdown and improve endurance and strength.

One serving has only 35 calories and 0 grams of sugar so you don’t have to worry about your blood sugar.

The one con most people agree on is there are a lot of artificial ingredients, but also some things which aren’t necessary.

For instance, it contains an amino acid called histamine, which is something patients with immune diseases are prescribed, and certainly not athletes.

It also contains lysine HCI which is used to prevent herpes. While not a bad ingredient, we have to admit it is unnecessary in a pre-workout supplement.

2. PreSeries LEAN by Transparent Labs

Transparent Labs PreSeries Bulk Pre-Workout Review

PreSeries LEAN is meant to be the best pre-workout supplement on the market.

Unlike many other supplements, it has no artificial colorings, no artificial sweeteners, it is gluten-free and non-GMO, and doesn’t have any artificial preservatives.

In addition to caffeine and BCAAs, it also contains Chromium Picolinate, Zinc, N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, and more.

Positive effects include increased blood flow and mental focus. It also helps you burn more fat during your workout and have more endurance.

The taste is not exactly what you’d call great. But this is a small price to pay for having a supplement made solely of natural ingredients, without artificial sweeteners.

As a price, it is slightly more expensive than other supplements for 30 servings and you can get it from the Transparent Labs official website.

3. Ora Organic Pre-Workout Energy Powder

Organic Vegan Probiotic Powder with Prebiotics | Trust Your Gut

If you’re looking for a pre-workout supplement that is not only made of natural ingredients but is also vegan and organic Ora Organic is made for you!

Like most pre-workout supplements it contains caffeine. However, for Ora Organic, the caffeine comes from a blend of organic green coffee beans, yerba mate, ginseng, eleuthero, and matcha.

Other ingredients include apple, spinach, kale, Rhodiola, pea, raspberry, and more. It is safe to say these are not common ingredients for pre-workout supplements.

The con is that despite the fancy, all-natural list of ingredients, there’s very little of each in a serving.

If you think you’ll get your daily dose of greens just by taking one serving of this supplement each day, you’re mistaken.

If you carefully look at how many veggies and fruits you’re getting, you’ll soon realize these ingredients are there more for marketing than anything else.

On the bright side, it is a good way to flavor a supplement, and it’s certainly better than tons of artificial coloring and sweeteners.

In terms of effects, Ora Organic helps increase strength and endurance. Some complain they didn’t feel energized enough.

The dose of caffeine per serving is slightly smaller than in other pre-workout supplements, so if you rely heavily on this ingredient, Ora Organic might not be for you.

Price-wise, it is among the more expensive supplements of its kind,  for 20 servings on Amazon.

4. Garden of Life Sport Organic Pre-Workout

Another supplement perfect for those looking for something organic, vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO, the Garden of Life Organic

In addition to caffeine, it also contains vitamins C, K1, and B12.

On top of that, it also contains an antioxidant complex and a nitric oxide blend containing spinach, beet, and kale standardized to 1% nitrate.

It can also help increase energy and mental clarity for an intense workout.

Make sure you check the package though. This has 13 grams of carbohydrate per serving so it may not be ideal for those who are on a strict low-carb diet.

But if this isn’t an issue for you, then definitely check it out on Amazon.

5. Fitmiss Ignite Women’s Pre-Workout & Energy Booster

Amazon.com: FitMiss Ignite, Women's Pre-Workout Supplement ...

The last in our list of pre-workout supplements for women, Fitmiss Ignite claims to boost your blood flow and help you improve strength and endurance.

It is also meant to aid weight loss by boosting fat burning.

The main thing that stands out when looking at ingredients is something called Proprietary FitMiss Igniter Blend which includes things like taurine, l-glycine, l-tyrosine, and more.

That problem is that because they labelled them as a “blend”, we can’t know the exact quantities of any of these ingredients.

We’re sure the product is well-formulated but knowing the exact dosage would be useful. We do know it also contains vitamin B6, Calcium, and Magnesium Oxide.

The main focus is beta-alanine, which increases endurance, enhances lean muscle mass, and helps improve your overall performance.

A great thing about it is its packaging: it comes in small individual packets, so it’s easy to use on the go.

The cons, however, include the poorly listed ingredients, the fact that it contains sucralose. Many say it doesn’t provide the energy boost it claims.

Some even say it didn’t increase their energy at all.

The good news is it’s not expensive, so check it out if you feel it is good for you.
