Quality and Durability

Sadly, we weren’t able to find out what exactly goes into the manufacturing process to create the grips.

This, most likely, is due to the currently pending patent application that Angles 90 has filed.

We were able to find out that all Angles 90 products are made in Angles 90’s facility in Northern Italy, where their products ship out from.

Workouts and Exercises

Looking for a new workout to try with your Angles90 grips? Here are a couple of exercises you may want to consider integrating into your fitness routine:

pull up grips

Classic Lat Pull-Ups

  1. First, make sure your pullup bar is positioned at the correct height and choose a gripping style (ergo, power, etc.) to grab hold of your handles.
  2. Position the handle so that it’s at a 90-degree angle to the horizontal bar, the finger cavity should be facing inwards.
  3. Using the strap on the handle, form a loop, and push the handle through the strap. Be sure to keep the strap straight during this process.
  4. Grab the handle tightly and put your middle finger through the strap. Once you start pulling, the strap should secure itself into place.
  5. Repeat steps 1-5 to secure the second handle. They should be equal to about shoulder-width distance apart.
  6. Grip your handles and exhale while pulling yourself up until your chin is level with the bar.
  7. Pause at the top of your pull.
  8. Inhale as you lower yourself down and your elbows straighten out.
  9. Without touching the floor, repeat the movement and complete your reps for the workout.

Deadlifts

  1. First, make sure your pullup bar or adjustable dumbbells are positioned at the correct height and choose a gripping style (ergo, power, etc.) to grab hold of your handles.
They should be a little less than shoulder-width distance apart so that you don’t let your arms outside your knee.
  6. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your toes under the bar. Your heels should be flat on the floor with your toes pointed straight or angled out slightly.
  7. Brace your abs and squat down, bending at your knees. Remember to keep your back and shoulders straight.
  8. Breathe out as you grip your handles and push upward through your knees and legs to lift the bar.
  9. While lifting, pull your shoulders back without bending backward until you reach full height. The bar should come to rest at or around your mid-thighs.
  10. Using a reverse range of motion, lower the bar to the floor to complete the rep and pause before continuing

Additional Features

  • Available by itself or in sets to suit whatever your workout requires

Who Is It Best For?

During our research, we found that one of the most common threads throughout the many reviews provided by Angles 90 was that users reported feeling less pain in their shoulders, arms, and wrists during their gym workouts.

This is partly because you reduce the risk of damaging your muscles and increase body tension when you use proper techniques for gripping.

For these reasons, we recommend these grips for anyone looking for a more comfortable way to work out with their weights, and anyone who suffers from the shoulder, wrist, or arm injuries but still wishes to lift weights.

We would also recommend this to anyone looking for a hands-free way to use shared weight lifting equipment.

What Do People Say About It?

We’re not the only ones who’ve taken notice of the grips from Angles 90. Here’s what some other users from YouTube and Amazon had to say about their experiences.

Amazon

On Amazon, Angles 90 has a 4.3 out of 5 stars and several helpful reviews. One verified purchaser who uses the handle, Iam Thalatta, says,

“Avoids adduction/inward rotation of shoulders. This also makes it easier to bring the elbows back as far as possible, and rotate grip positions to avoid unnatural strain. I can lift heavier weights and control them better than before.”

In a more recent five star review from April of 2020, user Harry McDermott adds,

“I am very happy with the products because of their robustness and adaptability using the hooks. They are also very compact and portable so when the lockdown ends I will be bringing my new Angles 90 kit with me on my travels, to the gym, etc. [sic] Highly recommended.”

YouTube

Average Dad Reviews Fitness on YouTube provides a quick review and video demonstrations of the Angles90 Grips in use.

In his review, Average Dad states,

“These are something that I’m using almost every day now, with how easy these are to use, and the pain that saves me in my wrist and shoulder.”

In another, more lengthy review, YouTube creator Tucker Boucher gives a thorough overview of Angles 90. He says in his assessment that,

“What I actually thought was pretty beneficial is the fact that you can rotate as your pulling”

and provides a video demonstration of how to use the Angles 90 properly.

He also includes comparing his workout with and without the grips and a helpful list of pros and cons. For a pro, Tucker Boucher notes,

“You can go from an overhand grip, pronate to a neutral grip which really helps get that back contraction.”

He goes on to provide his number one con,

“They’re shipped with no instructions, which is kind of unfortunate. But, if you go to their Instagram as I said, they kind of have a tutorial, step-by-step on how to do rows, pull-ups, and other certain things… that’s how I learned.”

The Verdict: Should You Try It?

grips for pull up

While the Angles90 may be relatively new to the home gym equipment market, they’ve certainly been quick to make a reputation for themselves. Angles 90 Grips are a convenient and comfortable way to make your workout work better for you.

By forcing you to use proper gripping techniques, the Angles90 is a fantastic way to help you improve your form and prevent injury during workouts.

Even if you just plan on using the Angles 90 Grips to use shared gym equipment without actually touching the weights themselves, you’ll find that these are definitely worth your investment.
