Muscle Milk Pro Series 32 Review

Muscle Milk has made itself into one of the most well-known protein powder manufacturer in the world and, as of 2019, is owned by PepsiCo Inc.

With a wide array of products, Muscle Milk’s Pro Series Protein Shake is a non-dairy protein shake that contains a blend of several proteins. It is geared toward athletes, weekend warriors, and those who want to increase their protein intake.

It has many benefits due to the high-quality proteins it contains, but there are also a few cons customers find.

So keep reading our Muscle Milk Pro Series 32 review to find out more!

TLDR: Review of the Muscle Milk Pro Series 32

Muscle Milk Pro Series Protein Shake, 32g Protein, Knockout Chocolate, 11 Fl Oz, 4 Count - Walmart.com - Walmart.com

The Muscle Milk Pro Series line comes with two distinct products:

  1. A ready-to-drink shake 1similar to this Orgain Protein Shake I recently reviewed. The RTD shake comes in 5 flavors: banana, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and peanut butter chocolate.
  2. In a protein powder that you must mix yourself. The protein powder version comes in 3 flavors: chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. On the Amazon store, you’ll find it for a pack of 12 bottles, with each bottle having 11 Fl Oz.

If you want the RTD version, Amazon doesn’t currently offer the possibility to buy just one bottle, but you can purchase a single serving from the official Muscle Milk website.

Anyways, Muscle Milk Pro Series can be used before a workout, to give you more energy, or after the workout, to help you recover faster. It can also be used at other times throughout the day, as a high protein snack or meal. Each serving contains 32 grams of protein and only 1 gram of sugar.

It may seem slightly more expensive than other protein supplements, but, unlike with milk protein powders, the Muscle Milk Pro Series Protein Shakes, you don’t need to worry about preparing it ahead of time as it is ready to serve.

Its main con comes from the ingredients that might make it look like a fairly artificial supplement, which is less appealing to people who are looking for more natural options.

When used in moderate quantities the risk of any side effects is minimal. All in all, Muscle Milk Pro Series is worth a try by anyone who’s looking to increase their protein intake.

 Muscle Milk Pro Series 32 Ingredients

One serving of Muscle Milk Pro Series 32 has 160 calories, 32 grams of protein, and only 1 gram of sugar. It is both dairy and gluten-free, which makes it perfect if you have any allergies to these ingredients.

The main ingredients include:

  • milk protein isolate;
  • calcium sodium caseinate;
  • various vitamins and minerals including vitamins A, C, B6, B12, Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc;
  • maltodextrin;
  • artificial flavors;
  • sucralose.

Milk protein isolate is commonly used in supplements, energy drinks, or bars. It boosts the protein content but it also helps enhance flavors. You may also find it in yogurts or milk derivatives, where it is added to boost the total protein count. It is digested fairly quickly, but slower than whey protein.

Calcium sodium caseinate is the scientific name of casein. It is considered an excellent source of protein. It has one main downside: it can cause allergic reactions.

Maltodextrin and sucralose are sweeteners that have both pros and cons. They are not the best sweeteners you can find, there are many healthier and more natural alternatives. But they also don’t have many side effects and are generally well-tolerated by most people.

In terms of benefits, there are no scientifically proven ones, but most will agree the proteins in Muscle Milk can boost energy, speed up recovery, help muscle growth, and more.

It may also aid weight loss, as it can be used as a healthy snack or even as an occasional meal replacement. It is, however, not a complete replacement for a healthy lifestyle, so if weight loss is your goal, don’t rely only on this supplement.

Also, keep in mind that while it is marketed as a dairy-free product, some people report allergies to its ingredients. So if you know you are extremely sensitive to any dairy traces or derivatives, you may want to use it carefully.

On the downside, the RTD version does have ingredients derived from soy. It’s not clear what is derived from soy – it’s not soy protein – but most likely a soy lecithin type ingredient that helps with mixability.

Both versions also contain acesulfame potassium (aka Ace-K) and sucralose, both of which are artificial sweeteners. While they are generally recognized as safe, I prefer to avoid them. Additionally, I tend to really dislike any ace-k flavored product as they tend to have a very odd, over-the-top sweetness to them.

Who Is It Best For?

The best results will be seen by people who have an active lifestyle. Athletes, bodybuilders, and those who work out regularly can benefit from supplementing with Muscle Milk.

If you’re finding it hard to eat a high-protein diet or even to reach your recommended daily protein intake, you may also try Muscle Milk Pro Series Protein Shake.

Simply replace any snack with a shake and you’ll boost your proteins easily.

Where can I find it?

Muscle milk products can be found in a wide array of place, from specialty stores like GNC and Vitamin Shoppe to mass retailers like Walmart and Costco. And, obviously, you can find it online at places such as Amazon.

If you’re looking for the cheapest place, Costco (in store, not online) has the best price. If you don’t have a local Costco, usually Amazon will be the next place place to purchase it.

What do people say about it?

muscle milk review

On Amazon’s star rating, Muscle Milk Pro Series Protein Shake has really good reviews. People generally praise it for its high protein content, while also having low sugar.

For instance, one customer with diabetes finds it a great product because it doesn’t impact their blood sugar so they can easily take post-workout.

The negative comments are generally tied to taste – most seem to think it tastes very bad and artificial.

Others are also angry about the long list of artificial ingredients in a product that has a fairly high price. Another customer also complains about the dairy content and the risk of allergic reactions, all in a product that is marketed as “non-dairy”.

On YouTube, Muscle Milk Pro Series 32 is fairly appreciated for its high protein content, low calories, and low sugar. While most seem to agree the taste is not the best on the market, it is also not considered the worst.

The Bottom Line

muscle milk pro 32

Muscle Milk Protein Power Pro Series is a ready-to-drink protein supplement. It is great for athletes, bodybuilders, and people who work out regularly as it increases energy, shortens recovery time, and helps you build lean muscle.

The Muscle Milk Pro can also be used by anyone who is trying to eat a diet higher in protein, as it can easily replace a snack or occasionally a meal. You could also use it to sneak in some additional calories if you’re looking for some healthy weight gain.

Its ingredients are safe, though I prefer to avoid a number of them. As such, this is not the drink or protein powder I recommend. I’d much rather have Isopure, Premier Protein, or something like Optimum Nutrition.

The price isn’t the lowest on the market, especially if you look at the high number of artificial ingredients, however it can be reasonably priced. After all, it is still a convenient supplement that can benefit many people and even server as a quick meal.
